Stiffness Tester

The Stiffness Tester evaluates the flexibility and bending resistance of paper and paperboard. This can be in both machine and cross machine directions.

To test, clamp the sample in the pivot block to allow for left and right measurement of the bending resistance. This is at the free end of the sample in grams. For testing standard samples, measure the bending resistance at a pivot angle of 15°. For specimens that break or crease at 15° (e.g. paperboard), measure the bending resistance at a pivot angle of 7.5°. The Stiffness Tester has range of 0 – 2000g. And accuracy of ±0.03%. Thus, making the test highly precise. The machine has a digital display in g/cm. Also, allows bending angle at 15° or 7.5°. And allows test time of 15 seconds.

The Stiffness Tester can test samples of sizes:

• 38mm x 70mm (1.5inch x 2.75inch)
• 38mm x 76mm (1.5inch x 3inch)
